Cyprus Citizenship

In an effort to promote Cyprus as a center for investment the Council of Ministers of the republic of Cyprus has enforced the scheme for naturalization of investors in Cyprus by exception. This scheme is practically aiming in inviting foreign direct investment in return, of which the investor is privileged to obtain European citizenship.

The main characteristics- prerequisites are as follows

  • Total investment of €2M to €2,5M out of which €0,5M must be invested in a residence.
  • The investor and the dependent members of his family will participate and enjoy the citizenship advantage.
  • An additional € 0.5M residence will extend the privilege to the parents of the investor. The above procedure follows a permanent residence permit that must be secured in advance.

Residency in Cyprus

Permanent Residence in Cyprus can be obtained by direct investment in real estate. The program requires investment in real estate with a minimum market value of €300,000 plus VAT.

The main characteristics- prerequisites are as follows

  • Maintain deposit in a Cypriot bank with a minimum balance of €30,000 from funds transferred from overseas (the amount requirement increases by €5,000 for each dependent child and €8,000 for each dependent parent).
  • Have a clean criminal record.
  • Visit Cyprus at least once every two years;
  • Declare that they do not intend to work or to be involved in any form of business in Cyprus;
  • Declare that they have a secured annual income from abroad;
  • Ensure that the applicant’s name is not included in the list of persons whose property is ordered to be frozen by the EU.

Provided that the above criteria are met, the application shall be examined by the Minister of Interior and the permit is expected to be granted within two months. You can get more information here. Click Here
